Custom Mobile Medical Vans for Tiburcio Vásquez Health Center’s Street Health Outreach Program
We partnered with the Tiburcio Vásquez Health Center to design and build three fully customized mobile medical vans that strengthen their Street Health Outreach Program and expand access to essential healthcare services. Designed to operate in urban, rural, and underserved environments, these compact mobile clinics allow healthcare teams to provide vaccinations, point‑of‑care testing, physical exams, and patient consultations directly in the community.
Each van is built with a thoughtful layout that maximizes functionality within limited space, ensuring patient privacy, efficient clinical workflow, and reliable off‑grid operation.
Independent Power System for Reliable Mobile Healthcare Delivery
To ensure seamless operation in the field—whether parked curbside or in remote locations, each van includes:
A compact under floor generator on the driver’s side
Integrated battery system for continuous backup power
Generator-powered roof-mounted AC and ventilation
Exterior access hatch for maintenance and service
This system keeps refrigeration, lighting, testing equipment, and climate control running without the need for external power—ideal for community outreach events and mobile public health efforts.
Exterior Layout Designed for Accessibility & Functionality
The vans maintain a clean, minimal exterior for easy branding and operation, featuring:
Convenient side entry door
Passenger-side placement for quick patient intake
Weather-protected generator access
Easy reach exterior outlets for mobile equipment
These features ensure smooth setup and efficient medical operation during fieldwork.
Efficient Interior Layout for Patient Flow & Clinical Work
Despite the compact footprint, the interior is strategically arranged to support medical services effectively.
Intake & Nurse’s Station
Upon entry, a bulkhead separates the cab from the clinical space, improving patient privacy. The nurse’s station includes:
Driver-side work counter
Overhead cabinet for paperwork and supplies
False back providing access to the water tank
Curtain separation from the exam area to maintain privacy
This setup supports a smooth intake process for patient interviews, paperwork, or preliminary assessments.
Examination Area
The rear exam space is designed to function as a complete mobile clinic.
Custom treatment table with adjustable headrest for patient comfort
Diagnostic board above the table housing essential tools such as; stethoscope, BP cuff, and thermometer
Standing-height counter with sink for hygiene and sterility
Floor-to-ceiling rear storage cabinet for gloves, PPE, testing kits, and emergency supplies
This configuration allows healthcare staff to deliver full exam services within a compact, organized workspace.
Cold Storage & Sample Handling
On the passenger side behind the entry door:
A medical refrigerator provides secure, temperature controlled storage for vaccines and samples
Overhead cabinet for additional supplies
Strategic placement ensures quick access to immunizations and specimen containers, minimizing patient movement within the van.
Built for Community Healthcare & Street Outreach
These mobile medical vans support a wide range of programs, including:
Mobile vaccination clinics
Point of care diagnostic testing
Physical examinations
Homeless outreach
Preventive care and harm reduction services
Community health screenings
Their compact design, independent power system, and privacy‑focused layout make them ideal for healthcare providers seeking to expand services directly into under served neighborhoods.
