Custom Mobile Medical Van for Terros Health – Expanding Street Health Outreach Services
We collaborated with Terros Health to create a purpose‑built Mobile Medical and Outreach Van designed to bring essential healthcare directly to underserved and unhoused individuals. As part of their Street Health Outreach Program, this van serves as a fully functional mobile clinic—offering medical care, testing, vaccinations, appointment navigation, and access to vital community resources.
Built for comfort, privacy, and independent field operation, the van helps close care gaps by delivering high‑quality services directly where they are needed most.
Reliable Off Grid Power for Field Healthcare
Since this vehicle frequently operates in areas without electricity, we equipped it with:
A driver side exterior access generator
A battery system supporting continuous off grid function
Power for all lighting, outlets, refrigeration, and AC
A roof-mounted air‑conditioning unit ensures a comfortable clinical environment regardless of outside conditions—critical for both patients and providers during extended outreach.
Privacy-Focused Interior for Safe, Respectful Patient Care
Upon entering through the passenger-side sliding door, a full cab curtain blocks visibility from outside, creating a safe and private setting for sensitive services.
Immediately inside, a lockable overhead cabinet provides secure storage for paperwork, supplies, and medical equipment.
Dedicated Intake & Testing Area
The intake bench on the driver’s side is designed to support a variety of medical assessments, including:
Blood sugar checks
Blood pressure readings
STI/HIV testing
Wound care
Vaccinations
Beyond medical care, Terros Health uses this space to help patients:
Schedule medical or behavioral health appointments
Access housing assistance
Apply for AHCCCS / healthcare coverage
Receive guidance on food stamps and social services
This multi‑functional space supports holistic street‑health engagement.
Workstation & Clinical Support Features
Further back on the driver’s side is a dual‑position counter workstation equipped with:
Two monitors
Overhead storage
Accessible power outlets
This area is used for charting, telehealth communication, patient support services, and outreach documentation.
Passenger-Side Storage, Preparation & Hygiene Zone
Behind the entry door, the van includes:
A second padded bench seat with under storage
A full standing counter running along the wall
Locking base cabinets and a locking overhead cabinet
Mounted sharps disposal and a resource brochure holder
A sink is integrated into the counter to maintain sterility and comply with mobile clinical hygiene standards.
Medical Refrigeration for Vaccines & Samples
At the rear of the van, a medical‑grade refrigerator stores:
Vaccines
Preventive medications
Lab samples requiring temperature control
Its placement allows staff to quickly access immunizations and safely store collected specimens.
Built to Serve Underserved & Unhoused Communities
This mobile medical van supports Terros Health in providing:
Street medicine
Vaccines & testing
Wound care
Harm reduction services
Appointment navigation
Social service resource support
Medical and behavioral health outreach
Every element was designed to make patients feel welcome, respected, and safe while equipping the Terros team with the tools needed to deliver meaningful, compassionate care in the field.
