Overland Mobile Labs joined forces with us here at Quality to design and manufacture a custom mobile laboratory environment. Their goal was to create a space for a company or hospital to use for a wide variety of training and strategic investments. Working with us, we designed a sleek and innovative vehicle that is multi-functional and looks professional.
Exterior Features
18’ shelter with 36” added over attic electrical and storage space, keeping the layout of the vehicle cleaner. Shelter has a 7’ nominal interior height.
Adding to the overall professional feel, the exterior of this vehicle was skinned without the use of rivets, giving it a seamless look. Extending the framing down, we’ve created a skirt around the vehicle covering the underbelly. We’ve included multiple features that add to the rugged professional appearance of this vehicle, including:
Custom front bumper with amber and flood lights installed
Rugged off-road wheels
Spare tire mounted on the rear of the vehicle
To improve the functionality of the vehicle, we have these notable features:
Generator installed in an under-shelter compartment on the street side, with exterior maintenance access and a shore power inlet nearby
Four solar panels mounted on the roof to keep the lithium battery system maintained during periods of downtime when this vehicle may be waiting in a lot or at an airport
Two roof-mounted ACs with heat strips to keep the interior of the vehicle a comfortable lab environment at all times
One roof-mounted vent fan to keep airflow in the vehicle during nice weather where AC’s and heaters aren’t needed
Starlink mounted on roof for added internet connectivity
Tri-point backup camera allowing visibility of right and left blind spots as well as rear
Awning over curb side creating a welcoming area for people to enter, or a shaded space to set up a display booth at events

The interior of this vehicle perfectly captures the multi-purpose nature of this vehicle, creating a comfortable lab and training area for many distinct aspects of work. Internally, the vehicle feels clean and practical, with notable features like:
Curb-side stainless steel work counter with center pull-out tray for additional working area and overhead aluminum storage cabinets with under-cabinet task lights
Curbside rear sample and specimen refrigerator
Streetside bench seat with storage underneath and 43” TV mounted on wall above
Streetside stainless steel counter with sink and aluminum under-counter cabinet storage and overhead aluminum storage cabinet with under-cabinet task lights
Streetside floor-to-ceiling storage cabinet with open storage area in very rear of vehicle for specialized medical equipment
