Chassis:
Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 170” Wheelbase Extended High Roof
The National Park Service Mobile Search and Rescue Sprinter Van is designed with safety and transportation in mind; the van runs off the engine battery and an additional house battery we installed to power the interior lights. This vehicle is ready to go into the field, with the ability to drive in tight rural areas; it is more mobile than a larger ambulance trying to navigate a national park.
Exterior Features
This van has minimal exterior features, keeping the focus on being functional as a search and rescue tool for the National Park Service.
Two exterior scene lights on either side of the van and two on the rear for full visibility during night operations
Emergency lighting mounted in the grille of the van and on the rear for traffic visibility in emergency situations
Awning over the curb side of the vehicle to provide shade when needed
Interior Features
The interior of the van is fully focused on work ability, with custom shelving and a place to strap down a gurney in case of emergencies.
Custom fabricated shelving down the street and curbside of the vehicle, designed to store desired specified safety equipment
D-rings in the floor for gurney tie-down
Front bulkhead with three jump seats for additional riding positions in the van
This van is suitable for many uses:
Transporting equipment and personnel
Creating a briefing area on the exterior under the awning
