Chassis:

q Ford Transit 148” Wheelbase Extended High Roof

Made in partnership with Delaware County PD, this mobile Hostage Negotiation Team (HNT) Transit is engineered to serve as a compact command vehicle, complementing larger shelters mounted on trucks. This vehicle is particularly advantageous for small cities, budget-conscious operations, or areas with narrow roads, offering a well-organized interior designed to maximize available space for both work and briefing activities.

Exterior Features

The design of the vehicle’s exterior emphasizes a discreet appearance. The black paint effectively conceals features such as small emergency lights. Key exterior elements include:

q A generator housed in a service-accessible box, strategically located behind the driver’s seat

q Shore cord receptacles on the street's side for easy access to power

q Dual roof-mounted air conditioning units equipped with heat strips, ensuring a comfortable and functional interior climate in various weather conditions

q A custom aluminum diamond plate step mounted at the rear and side doors for improved accessibility

q A Whelen emergency lighting and sound package that features four small round lights at each corner, additional lights on the rear doors, and grill lights, enhancing visibility while maintaining a low-profile look

Interior Features

The vehicle’s interior is intelligently divided into two distinct areas: a front work and seating area and a private briefing room designed for two occupants. Despite its compact size, the layout is both functional and thoughtfully designed:

q A workstation counter is installed on the streetside, complete with a desk, chair, and a pull-out drawer for added convenience

q An overhead storage cabinet is positioned on the streetside, featuring a drawer accessible from the workstation desk

q A flip-up seat is integrated into the curbside wall, and a bench with additional storage is located on the street side

q A pocket door partition separates the rear briefing room, ensuring privacy for discussions

q The front partition features carpet on the cab side, while the cargo side is equipped with a whiteboard for notes or presentations

q The briefing room includes a removable rear conference table, enhancing its functionality

Designed as a mobile Hostage Negotiation Command center, this vehicle provides a quiet and controlled environment for HNT professionals to operate effectively. Its compact nature also makes it suitable for use as a command vehicle in general emergencies, particularly in tight rural areas where maneuverability is essential.
