This mobile DUI vehicle from Flagstaff received a complete remodel from Quality Vans & Specialty Vehicles to be a better-functioning DUI Testing vehicle for the City’s current needs.

Our first step was to strip the interior of the vehicle, removing benches, flooring, cabinets, lights, and old rotted plywood. We then upgraded the walls and ceiling with plywood, smooth FRP, and grey commercial fabric. The addition of six 24″ LED ceiling lights and two 6″ round LED lights over the blood draw area not only improved the lighting but also gave the vehicle a more modern look.

On the passenger side, we installed a floor-to-ceiling storage cabinet with three adjustable shelves, providing ample storage space. We also added a custom-fabricated seating bench with a vinyl-padded top and storage underneath, making efficient use of the remaining space.

On the driver’s side, we fabricated two custom vinyl-padded benches with storage compartments below. The bench on the front wall has a solid-surface drop-down arm for blood draw. These chairs are on the front and back of the vehicle, with approximately 100″ of solid-surface work counter between them, and a Hon-type file cabinet under the counter.

We installed wiring and electrical outlets for work areas and the breathalyzer on the driver’s and passenger sides of the DUI vehicle.

The electrical and exterior were upgraded by replacing the existing auxiliary battery and switching out four exterior LED lights with four powerful and high-tech Whelen LED scene lights.

The existing Honda generator on the passenger side was removed and replaced with an Onan commercial 7000-watt gas generator with a remote start and hour meter on the driver side. We also installed an HWH hydraulic leveling system to update the usability of this mobile command vehicle.
