This mobile public outreach vehicle is outfitted for accessible counseling on the go and makes these services in communities possible. On the passenger side of the public outreach vehicle is a roof-mounted awning to provide a shaded space for public outreach coordination or special events that this vehicle is taken to where there might be people gathering around it. An exterior outlet has also been provided for anything that might require power outside of the public outreach vehicle. On the driver’s side is access to the 4 kW generator plumbed to the vehicle’s fuel tank with a remote start and an hour meter mounted inside this public outreach vehicle.

As we move to the interior of the public outreach vehicle, note that the slide entry door has been installed with a custom fabricated side entry step to make this door more accessible. The door has also been cut into, and a window has been installed for exterior monitoring while the public outreach vehicle is in use.  A custom public outreach vehicle curtain covers the cab to keep passers-by from seeing inside. As you enter the public outreach vehicle, along the driver’s side, there is a counter above the generator with custom aluminum cabinets stretching out before the wheel well. At the end of this counter is a section that sits slightly higher and houses a refrigerator underneath it to support public outreach.

On the passenger side, directly behind the door of this public outreach vehicle, is a floor-to-ceiling cabinet for additional storage. Behind this storage are two benches for the actual counseling or public outreach to take place. To help facilitate this, the rear ends of the benches each have outlets for any public outreach vehicle equipment that might need to be plugged in. In the very rear we installed a wheelchair lift to make this vehicle as accessible as possible as a public outreach vehicle.
