One of the mobile medical vehicles made for Riverside County featured an 18-foot box instead of a 16-foot box. This vehicle was upfitted with an electric awning to provide shade while in the community providing services, a custom-fabricated compartment for the generator is installed on the front drivers side of the vehicle, and a battery in a lower storage box. Two AC units were installed on the roof to create and maintain a comfortable climate for the larger size while this vehicle is in use.
Inside this mobile medical vehicle, across from the door, is a space where we installed a phlebotomy chair. Behind it is a window for emergency escapes. A pocket door separates this small front area from the next, using the corner of the bathroom wall as part of this divider. The bathroom, accessed from the center room, has a toilet and a large vanity with a full sink inside. Across from the bathroom is a second phlebotomy chair, a counter with overheads, an outlet for equipment plug-ins, and a refrigerator underneath.
In the vehicle’s rear is an exam room separated by another pocket door, which creates privacy. There is a wheelchair lift on the passenger side of the truck. Along the back wall is a counter and overhead with an additional outlet for equipment plug-ins. The other wall has a custom-made fold-down medical bed with a window behind it for emergency escapes.
