In our ongoing partnership with SRP, we designed and created this mobile Substation Test Trailer. Inside, there is a dedicated work area along with ample storage for tools and repair equipment.
On the tongue of the trailer is the generator that powers this unit, making sure that the inside stays powered and comfortable. Utilizing an exterior-mounted condenser AC system, we are able to always keep the interior of this trailer at a comfortable working temperature. A vent is also provided for additional airflow.
There is an entry from a side man door or the rear doors with blast gate holes. At the rear doors, we have also modified the trailer for a 6’ ramp that is stored inside the trailer frame rails. Moving inside, mounted on the front wall of the trailer, is our electrical cabinet closest to the door, as well as a flammable supplies box mounted high on the street side of the trailer. Between these items is an aluminum cabinet with a thick work counter placed on top of it, making this a perfect workbench right under the AC to keep anyone working cool, despite the doors possibly being open and traffic coming through the vehicle.
To maximize storage space and opportunity and flexibility to store items inside the trailer, we installed three lines of etrack on each wall with outlets spaced along the wall for easy access. On the street side is a fold-up drafting table, able to create a secondary work area or fold away and keep the floorplan of the trailer open. Finally, at the rear curbside of the trailer is a custom reel storage rack that stacks the reels and makes them easily accessible.
