Quality Vans & Specialty Vehicles built this mobile outreach van for CalState Northridge with limited funds obtained from a grant from CVS Health. The mobile outreach van will provide developmental screenings for children in low-income communities. To accommodate the users of the mobile outreach van Quality Vans & Specialty Vehicles installed a 24″ raised roof to provide standing room height while inside. A custom fabricated desk was built across the rear of the van in addition to a double bench seat mid van to accommodate customers. A Onan 4 kW MicroLite generator was installed in the location of the spare tire underneath the mobile outreach van. This allows for the use of a 13.5 k BTU roof top air conditioner and 1500 watt electric baseboard heater. The van flooring was finished with a durable commercial grade vinyl and the walls and ceiling where covered in a color coordinated commercial fabric. To provide entertainment for the younger crowd a 19″ LCD TV with DVD player and Xbox 360 was installed in the overhead compartment above the driver/passenger seats. To allow communication with groups of people that might be outside the mobile outreach van a 100 watt exterior speaker system with wireless microphone PA system was included. To finish the van a complete vehicle vinyl wrap was applied with the art work provided by the University.
